Drives your rotation motor directly and, with a second Caterpillar board for the shutter, controls the dome opening—the two connect to each other automatically over WiFi. Handles encoder-based azimuth positioning, home sensing, and safety interlocks in one integrated system.

Connects to your existing button-operated drive through relays, with no rewiring of the motor system itself. Adds full software control, encoder positioning, and home sensing on top of whatever mechanical setup you already have running.

Both Caterpillar roof controllers offer ASCOM and INDI support and run standalone over USB or WiFi, or alongside Dragonfly or Starling.

Already using Dragonfly or Starling? Both are fully supported alternatives for roll-off roof automation. If your system is already built around either of them, they may be a better fit than adding a Caterpillar SSR. Dragonfly · Starling
